10X Prize: Clean Cooling Student Competition
As record-breaking heatwaves become the new normal, energy intensive air conditioning has become a go-to solution. Ironically, these cooling technologies are major contributors to climate change making it imperative that clean, affordable, and scalable solutions be developed to meet the needs of a hotter planet.
To meet this challenge, Ten Across hosted the 10X PRIZE Clean Cooling Student Competition to inspire new and creative solutions to address this important challenge. $200K was awarded to five teams to help them advance their solutions including a grand prize of $100K awarded to Northern Arizona University’s Project SmartFan and $50K to awarded to Habitat for humanity, their community partner, to prototype their winning solution in 40 start homes.
